Friday Night Footy
12/06/09 09:36 PM
An entertaining Friday Night Football was seen at
Gibson Park, with our talented Under 7’s and
Under 8’s playing under lights. A large crowd
supporting and cheering all teams, saw some special
individual and team tries and defence. Thankyou to St
John’s JRLC, Dapto JRLC and Collegians for the
Friday Night Footy match. Players and parents
retreated to Thirroul Bowling Leagues and Recreation
Club after the games for a meal and a chat.

On Field Water Runners
04/06/09 12:26 PM
There has been some
confusion of late in regards to the role of the on
field water runners.
Please note and pass on to all your teams the following requirements :
· Not to exceed 2 per team
· Must be accredited Leaguesafe, FAO or Sports Trainers
· Are to wear the appropriate shirt – Scottie Laycock has a supply if required
· Must record their accreditation on the game day sheet
· Must wear suitable footwear at all times – bare feet, thongs and sandals are not permitted on the field
· Are to station themselves at half way on the ‘Officials’ side of the field
· Are not permitted to wander up and down the sideline
· Must not coach whilst on the field
· Rigid water bottle carriers are not permitted on the field
· May only enter the field when attending to injury or during a stoppage in play ie when a try is scored or the referee signals time out – scrums are not stoppages in play
Ground Managers should enforce these requirements. If there are any issues the referee is entitled to stop the game until they are adhered to.
Furthermore, each home club must supply an FAO/St Johns Ambulance person/persons to be available while any Junior League game is in progress.
The relevant person/persons must be visible and accessible for all teams playing on the day.
