Continuing a great start to the season. 3 from 3 boys a great effort. This week we were really happy with defence they had a lot of pressure put on them on the line. Special mention for defence to Billy, Taj & Jared. Followed up by great attacks with lots of metres gained by Jared, Scott & Coen. Really great team effort from all the boys, with Dapto scoring a lucky try in the dying seconds of the game. Keep up the great work.

Thirroul 9-Blue — 40 vs Collegians Black — 4
It’s always hard when you play one of the easier sides in the competition, everyone thinks they can score from anywhere on the field. The boys started off the game well, playing some good attacking footy. But after scoring some quick try’s the boys fell back into their old ways all bunching up and calling for the ball all at the same time. Once the boys learn to spread out, pass the ball and use other players we’ll beat teams like this by another 20. Just remember boy’s rugby league is a team game.
A big thank you to Josh, Neilson and Johno from the under 8’s, If you watched the game you wouldn’t have known these boys were playing up a year. The boys showed great footy skills and all scored a try with Josh getting three.
Try Scorers: Josh 3, Kyen, Declan 2, Neilson, Johno.
Goals: Kyen, Declan, Jackson, Drew
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Ben Fulton Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Kane Rutledge

Thirroul 10-Butchers — 16 vs Corrimal — 4
A fantastic second half effort from the boys saw them overpower a very strong defensive cougars team. With us trailing 4 nil at the break the boys showed they have what it takes to win the tough games and be a real force in this comp. Every player contributed to this win and they should all be proud of their performance. Big thank you to Alex Harris who played a full game for the Blues, then came back and played a full game for us.
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Aaron Griffiths Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Jackson Bridge
Thirroul 10-Blue — 0 vs St John’s Dapto — 52
A very strong opposition made for a long hard day in defence for our boys. With the weight of possession and a big penalty count against us, the boys found themselves defending for much of the game. On the handful of occasions we had the ball, we made plenty of metres out wide and were unlucky not to score. Michael led the way with his tenacity but all had an opportunity to practice their tackling. Boy’s, when the going gets tough you need to work extra hard with increased enthusiasm. If you can do this, the game flow will turn.
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Liam Kerema Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Michael McClelland
Thirroul 10-White — 22 vs Woonona-Bulli — 36
The boys tried hard and it was even at half time. We let them get away in the second half by not holding onto the ball and giving Woonona more plays. The team overall played well.
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Ben Swan Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Josh Grimshaw
Thirroul 11-Blue — 12 vs St John’s Dapto — 0
great character shown with an awesome defensive line again guys and it had 2 be with the amount of ball we turned over.Luke led us well in attack as did Mez and Mitch.Coops and Jay organised well. Ben, A.J and curt were good in defence. Lets keep workin hard on attack as our structure is startin to come.
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Ben Aramayo Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Luke Westman
Thirroul 11-White — 4 vs Wests — 20
Big improvement in defence, the boys gave it all against Andre The Giants on the other team, Tommy Nellies and Riley Johnson did there job in the forwards. Improvements are being seen boys so keep it up, and lets keep training hard. A get well to Liam Kearney who was attacked by a dog through the week.
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Riley Johnson Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Tommy Nellies
Thirroul 12-Blue — 12 vs Dapto — 6
Dapto at Reed Park is always going to be a good hard game. Dapto has some solid forwards and nippy backs and our boys had to really fight hard to get on top. All our tries were scored out wide which made it difficult to add the extra points with conversions. We need to have confidence in our new plays and if we continue to concentrate at training the plays will start to pay off and points will come. Bring on the Burgh!
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award:
Thirroul 12-White — vs Collegians —
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award:
Thirroul 12-Butchers — 10 vs Helensburgh — 26
The boys had their best game so far. Individual tackling efforts were noticable but defence is still our weakest link. The Helensburgh forwards were allowed to run straight through the middle of the ruck area.
The Butchers worked as a team, called plays well and even congratulated each other.
We are not far from a win. And to win a game will lift the team confidence to a new level. Well done Fellas!
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Dean McAlary Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Bayley Freeman
Thirroul 13 — 38 vs Bateman’s Bay — 4
Good result with a 38 - 4 Victory of Batemans Bay. After a slow start and a lot of drop ball we got going midway through the first half and never looked back from there. A welcome return to Ari playing his first game of the year putting in a great performance. Kane Mitchell was also strong in the middle. Calum Pickthall was outstanding at fullback returning the ball very well and getting involved in our attack as much as possible resuting in 2 good trys. Tries also to both wingers Jarrod and Vincent, Steiny grabbing 3 and Jye 1 . We head down to wests on Saturday in what will be a very tough encounter. Special mention to Tyler Sargent Wilson who baced up from the 12's thanks mate.
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Ari Forrester Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Calum Pickthall
Thirroul 14-1 — 40 vs APOF — 4
A dominate effort by the boys convincingly defeated the strong side of Albion Park. Well done to all the boys in the team - you played veru well although some errors were very evident at times.
Encouragement Award / Gloria Jeans Coffee: Josh Simmons Man of the Match / Stockland Spirit Award: Hayden Emery
Thirroul 14-2 — vs Milton-Ulladulla —

Thirroul 15 — 36 vs Stingrays — 8
Congratulations for the first win of the year boys!!! We played as a much more committed and enthusiastic team and the rewards show. Our moves were sharper, our defence improved and everyone wanted to play to win, not just for themselves but for each other and if we can carry that on through the rest of the year we will be very hard to beat!! Great efforts were made by all, special mentions to Lachlan Shrub who played out of position in the centres but was very solid, Jack Croman and Zach Spinks steered the boys around the park well, Sam Fulton and Justin Brancato's great defence, Chris Beckett for his massive hit!!! Lachlan Sheen for his determined running, Bobby Fitzgerald for great talk and perfect chip kick, Rob Percy's great speed to score, Connor Smith Mcguffie who is always solid and Zachary "wendell Sailor" Gervaise's try in the corner. It's hard to mention just these guys because everyone played well as a team and should all be proud of the great win! Now lets not leave it behind next week as it will be a good test for our boys to keep up the good work.

Thirroul 16 — 24 vs Kiama — 20
Not our best game by far, but we did enough to win. Adam scored his first try for the Butchers, he backed up Sloaney after he made a break down the sideline(who knew he could run that fast) Adam finished it off after a great pass for a great try. Haighy scored one with a break away even though he wasn't well and Cooper got a double but concused himself on the goal post trying to safe a try. Eddie scored with a slick move close to the line. We were all over Kiama but the boys got lazy and kept letting them back into the game. Lets put this game behind us and play to our potential.
